If you are looking for unique and fun 13th birthday party ideas and childrens party games to play at the very special occasion of a 13th birthday, then you may like a few of the ideas detailed below.

Obviously, you’ll want to choose themes that suit your son or daughter’s favorite hobbies and interests. But for a few ideas for venues or the main event for them and a group of their friends:

  • Roller or Ice skating
  • Bowling or crazy golf
  • Laser light tag or paintball
  • Go karting
  • Amusement, adventure or water park
  • Camping in the backyard, with a BBQ and a bonfire if your backyard permits
  • More sporting games like dirt bikes or if they are baseball (or cricket) fans batting cages
  • Go out for a special meal – pizza is probably one particular favorite with kids
  • Disco – have a disco with music to suit the theme of their choice, with a DJ, mirror balls and light show.

13th Birthday Party Ideas – Party Games:

  • Fashion show, makeover or spa party – an idea for an all girl’s party, they could also have a sleepover (see previous post for more sleepover party games ideas)
  • Chocolate party – with a chocolate fountain and chocolate themed party games and party food.
  • Outdoor party games – limbo, hula hoops, split into teams and have a water balloon or water gun fight
  • Barn party – if they are cowboy fans, have a party in a barn with a hired bucking bronco and the guests have to dress up as cowboys and cowgirls
  • Farm party – for girls or boys who love animals, there are now companies that can bring a variety of tame and farm animals that the kids can pet and interact with
  • Scavenger hunt for kids – such as a photo scavenger hunt where the kids must photograph items on a list. The team who have photos of the complete list first wins. You can base this hunt and item list on things you find in a shopping mall, in your backyard, your local park or indoors.
  • Hawaiian Beach party – even if you are not near the beach, create a mock beach in your backyard, with everyone dressed in Hawaiian shirts, and have limbo and hula hoop competitions, as well as three-legged races and beach volleyball – maybe even using a water balloon as the volleyball!

I hope these few ideas help you get creative and using your child’s favorite hobby or interest as the theme you can adapt the ideas above to match that theme.
