- If the group of kids is quite large, it might be easier to have them work in teams.
- Treasure hunt items can be just everyday items, but if you are doing this for a special occasion then try using items and clues that match the party theme, for example for Halloween or a themed birthday party.
- Similarly, the treasure or prize doesn’t have to be big or expensive. And if the kids are young, you may want to put in a number of small prizes so that they all get a chance to win.

- For older kids, test them a bit with more challenging clues that will make them think and apply themselves to the treasure hunt. For example, if you are going make treasure maps, you could also include compass point directions for older kids to follow. Then armed with a compass they can practise their sense of direction, as well as having a bit of fun!
